Why we built LumiWed
Born from love stories we witnessed firsthand
Living in Amsterdam, we have been lucky to attend weddings for friends from every corner of the world. Italian-Iranian couples. Korean-Dutch families. Uruguayan-American love stories. Every celebration was beautiful — and every one came with the same quiet struggle.
We watched couples rewrite their websites in multiple languages, copy text between translation tabs, and manually merge RSVPs from different links. The love was real. The admin was exhausting.
These are not edge cases. In cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, and Toronto, crossing cultural and linguistic boundaries is simply what modern love looks like. Yet most wedding tools still assume everyone speaks the same language.

Can I change things after I send the invites?
Yes. That's the main reason to use Lumiwed. Shuttle time moves, dress code shifts, the weather changes the ceremony plan — edit once, all languages update, guests see the new version next time they open the link. No 'please ignore previous email.'
What if we need a language you don't support yet?
Email us before you pay. We currently support English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese — these cover the vast majority of international weddings in Europe. If your wedding genuinely needs a language outside that list, we'd rather tell you honestly than take your money.
How long does our site stay online?
Premium sites stay live through your wedding and for up to 12 months after. Your guests can revisit the schedule, the photo gallery, and directions long after the weekend. Free sites stay live for one month after the wedding date.
How is this different from Zola or The Knot?
